Smart Snack in SchoolsSmart-Snacks-in-School

USDA has released practical, science-based nutrition standards for snack foods and beverages sold to children at school, during the school day. These standards, required by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, will call for schools to offer healthier snack foods for children, while limiting junk food. Food Handler Permit Class Schedule

You may get your food handler permit online at http://www.statefoodsafety.com for a $25.00 charge. The permit is valid for three years. If you have questions about this website you can call the Health Department at (385)-468-3845.

Must bring photo I.D.  All classes are $30.00 CASH and must be renewed every three years.  Classes will not be held during holidays.   Classes are approximately 1-1/2 hours long.Please come 15 minutes early to register. Doors are closed 5 minutes after starting or sooner if class is full.  Please do not be late. Children are not allowed.  No exceptions!

There are food handler classes being offered in South Jordan every Thursday from 9:00 am - 11:30am:

The cost is $30.00 CASH ONLY
Take a photo I.D. and pencil or pen
1 free refillable soft drink/water provided

Health Regulation #5. Any person, before entering or engaging in the manufacturing, preparation or handling of food or drink, or being employed in or around food in a restaurant, hotel, beer parlor, delicatessen or other food service establishment shall obtain a food handler permit.

ServSafe Certification must be renewed every 3 years.
